Guangdong Foreign Trade Imp. & Exp. Corporation (GFTC), a state-owned foreign trade enterprise, was established in 1984 with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of the People's Republic of China and the Provincial Government of Guangdong. Conforming itself to the trend of China's reform and opening up, GFTC has been following the system of responsibity for profits or lossed and self-development.
Since its establishment, the co***ny has surged, grown and thrived in the spring wind of reform and gained profits year by year. Total amount of foreign exchange turned over to the government and total taxes and duty paid to Treasury both are in hundreds of millions and the amount of net profits after tax turned over is in tens of millions. Started from zero, GFTC now has net assets valued at several hundred million RMB and fairly large shares in a group of joint ventures, including some high technology industries, transportation fleets, port and ***ks and real estates projects. It has carried out computerized administration for all its business.
In reccent years GFTC has been ranked highly among the best of the 500 largest servicing enterprises throughout China. For its outstanding record of integrity GFTC has been awarded Grade A Enterprise by the Customs concerned and Banking Credibillity Grade A+. Taking trade as the lead GFTC simulteneously develops trade and industry, comprehensively of import and export departments and one transportation department. It has several wholly-owned subsidiaries and more than ten joint ventures, cooperative and associated enterprises at home and abroad. Pattern of enterprise with multi adminstrative levels has motivated the Co***ny to grow constantly in the fields of import and export, real estate and investment advisory.
